Jed and Shay are two character that we first meet in Sparrow Man and Raven King. They’ve stuck with me since showing up in my head.
Sometimes characters do this. They bunker down in the recesses of your brain and scream, “WRITE ABOUT ME NOW.” And that’s what Jed and Shay have done.
Jed is a forbidden creature, the son of an Archangel and human woman, his kind are forbidden. They typically die as infants or are hunted down and killed. Luckily, Jed had an exceptionally smart and strong mother. She was able to keep him alive until he could keep himself alive. Throughout the next books in the Veil of Shadows series, Jed’s upbringing and past are deeply explored.
