Delve into a realm of fated mates entwined in a deadly dance, where bad omens are a harbinger of darkness.

The Veil of Shadows world is composed of 4 realms: The Astral, The Seven Kingdoms of Heaven, The Earthen Plane, and Hell.
The Astral Plane: Few souls go to the Astral Plane but when they do they are gifted Astral magic. It doesn’t quite make up for the expanse of darkness these souls must endure for eternity. Some can escape the Astral plane if their souls are tethered elsewhere. This could be someones heaven or nightmare.
The Seven Kingdoms of Heaven: There are Seven Kingdoms ruled over by seven Archangels and/or their kin. The center of this plane is the Heavenly city of Babylon. A semi-neutral zone where the Kings/Archangels hand down judgement to those who have broken their rules. There is an elaborate fountain in the center of Babylon. Each Kingdom has a Legion of warriors.
The Earthen Plane: This is an Earth very much like our own. The Earthen Plane is God’s land but this God tends to be mysterious and faceless. Some think this God has feared what he’s created, some think he’s gone. There is a force which tends to guide or reveal.
Hell: This plane is a dark reflection of the Earthen plane. Landscapes, towns and roads are mirrored yet shadowed. There is an underlying scent of brimstone. Lucifer sits on the throne of Hell. This is his Kingdom. He has a Legion of Hellions who protect.
Deacons: The Deacons occupy Hell and run the Safe Houses. Newly dead souls all go to Hell, they must find a Safe House and repent before they can move on to their rightful plane. If they do not make it to a Safe House in time, they will turn into a zombie and remain in Hell. The Deacons help maintain the balance of the realms and are frequently depicted as meddling.
Cardinal Treaty: One realm must never completely decimate another realms policing force.
