Sometimes it’s just easy for a main character to give up. Think of it, how many people give up on their dreams, give up on their fight, they just exist or get stuck in a toxic cycle of sameness. Meg’s guilty of the same. In multiple situations she has been so overwhelmed by the feat before her that she’s given up or considered giving up.
