The warm glow of the evening sun filtered through the large windows of the university library as Rue packed the last of her books into her bag. Evelyn sat cross-legged on the nearby couch, flipping through a worn notebook filled with sketches of runes. Next to her was a pile of high resolution photographs from the dig site.
“So, we’re still on for the dig this weekend, right?” Rue asked, glancing up.
“Of course!” Evelyn said with a bright smile. “But I’ll be a few hours late. I’ve got a dinner date.” …
